FAQ
Ordering & Delivery
How is my sauna delivered?
Every sauna, cold plunge and hot tub ships by freight carrier directly from the Dundalk LeisureCraft workshop in Ontario, Canada. Delivery to the lower 48 United States is included in the price — there are no extra charges at checkout. Freight delivery is curbside: the driver brings the crate to the end of your driveway, and moving it to its final spot is up to you (a helper or two is usually enough for the panelized kits).
How long does delivery take?
Most orders leave the workshop within a few weeks, depending on the model and season. We confirm the current production time by email right after your order, and the freight carrier calls ahead to schedule a delivery window.
What should I do when the truck arrives?
Inspect the crate before signing. If you see any damage, note it on the delivery receipt and photograph it, then contact us within 48 hours — this is required for freight claims and lets us resolve issues quickly.
Assembly & Site Preparation
Do I need a professional to assemble it?
No. Canadian Timber saunas arrive as pre-built panels and staves with hardware and instructions included. Two people with basic tools typically assemble a barrel sauna in a day. You can always hire a local handyman if you prefer.
What base does my sauna need?
A level, solid surface — concrete pad, pavers, or a reinforced deck. The base should be at least as large as the sauna footprint. We are happy to confirm the exact crate and footprint dimensions for your model before you order.
Do I need a permit?
Requirements vary by municipality. Small outdoor structures often fall under permit thresholds, but electric heaters may require a licensed electrician for the 240V connection. Check with your local building department.
Heaters
Wood-fired or electric — which should I choose?
Wood-fired heaters (like the TimberGlow 14) need no electrical work and deliver a traditional experience with a longer heat-up ritual. Electric heaters (Harvia, Huum, Homecraft) reach temperature at the push of a button — the Huum DROP can even be started from your phone. If you are unsure about sizing, contact us with your model and climate and we will recommend the right output.
Warranty & Returns
What warranty do I get?
All Canadian Timber saunas, cold plunges and hot tubs carry a 5-year manufacturer warranty. Heaters carry their own manufacturer warranties (typically 1–5 years depending on brand and use).
Can I return my order?
Because every unit ships by freight direct from the manufacturer, returns are limited — please see our Return & Refund Policy for details, and reach out before ordering if you are unsure about sizing or placement. We would rather help you choose right the first time.
